MORETTO, Toni (1929 - 2011). The Great Tomsoni & Co. Sculpture. Circa 1995. Detailed ceramic sculpture shows all elements of the famed comedy dove magic act; Tomsoni produces a bird from a silk, his assistant holds a top hat in one hand and pulls a white handkerchief from the magician's open fly, and a "Gucci of Poland" robe lays on one side of the scene. 11 x 6 1/2 x 10". Third party transportation required.
The inspiration for this sculpture was the long-running act of Johnny and Pamela Thompson, who performed as "The Great Tomsoni & Co." The white robe, and one of Thompson's tuxedos, as well as other accessories from the act are also offered in this auction.
