[NEWSPAPERS]. [FRENCH-INDIAN WARS]. Group of 5 British Newspapers Chronicling the French-Indian Wars in North America. [V.p., ca. 1757-1760]. Newspapers vary between 4 to 8 pp. Sizes range from approximately 11 x 8" to 19 x 12 1/2". 

Condition

General wear, soiling, toning, a few ink tax stamps, all apparently removed from bound volumes with book remnants or stab-hole remnants at left margins. Very good. Newspapers include: Lloyd's Evening Post and British Chronicle (August 23, 1758 - mentioning the battle of Ticonderoga); The London Chronicle: or, Universal Evening Post (September 21, 1758 [and] October 25, 1757 - the former describing the battle of Lake George (and also has an article decrying the law forbidding children to marry), and the latter a brief article about the surrender of Fort William Henry); The Northampton Mercury (September 17, 1759 - the British triumph at Niagara); The Edinburgh Evening Courant (August 4, 1760 - the British victory at Fort Prince George).
