Vol. 21 No. 44. 2pp. Approximately 23.75 X 18". CONFEDERATE NEWSPAPER WITH SLAVE ADVERTISEMENT OF SOLOMON COHEN, P.1. Solomon Cohen was a Jewish merchant and slave owner in South Carolina and Georgia. His father, Moses Cohen, was the founder and first Rabbi of Temple Beth Elohim in Georgetown. On the front page "Solomon Cohen announces to his friends that he has opened a house for the purpose of conducting a Negro Brokerage and Commission Business."

Condition

Light toning and spotting. Chipped extremities. Upper right corner bent and lower right clipped. Small tears at margins with three tape repairs on P.2. Short rip at top along centerline. Holes at left from possible disbinding. One horizontal and one vertical crease. Very good.
