OKITO (Tobias Bamberg, 1875 – 1963). Two-Page TLS from Okito to Howard Thurston. Dated March 2, 1915, Okito writes to his former employer discussing performing a new act (“I think this is one of the most commercial acts I ever produced.”), the death of his father, his mother’s move to the United States, and most specifically, to interest Thurston in hiring Bamberg’s brother-in-law and daughter for the Thurston show, stating “[she] has the exact size of Miss Fernanda.” “They are willing to join you for the price of fifty dollars a week (for both) which believe me, this is cheap for their versatility.” Two 4to sheets, embossed with Bamberg’s name in the upper right, with the upper right corners torn away. BOLDLY SIGNED on the second sheet, “Theo.”
