Multi-media on card (title-page) and thick paper (the remaining illustrations). Title-page and 27 original illustrations. Sizes range from approximately 8 x 6 1/4" to 8 x 6 1/2". With visible guide-lines on front of illustrations. THE COMPLETE COLLECTION OF ARTWORK FOR THE FIRST BOOK APPEARANCE OF THIS MODERN CHRISTMAS CLASSIC. Written by Annie Bedford (pseudonym of Jane Werner Watson, b. 1915), this charming book is based on the popular song written by Walter "Jack" Rollins and Steve Nelson, recorded by Gene Autry and the Cass County Boys in 1950 (and later that same year, by Jimmy Durante - it has been since covered many times). The song proved so popular, that Golden Books commissioned a book version in the same year. This collection consists of the entire artwork of the interior of the book. Of course, the book and song are the basis of the perennial cartoon special, which airs every Christmas (1969, although there was a short film created in 1950 by WGN).
Condition
Illustrations (except title-page) with tape residue visible on front; all illustrations with tape residue on versos. Still, beautiful artwork with bright and vibrant colors. All housed in modern brick-red cloth clamshell case with pictorial paper label.
