[PRESIDENTS]. HARRISON, Benjamin (1833-1901). Autograph Letter Signed to Stephen B. Elkins. Indianapolis, June 10, 1888. On one 4to sheet of "Law Offices of Harrison Miller & Elam" letterhead, Harrison makes arrangements for Elkins to make a personal visit at his home in Indianapolis en route to the Republican National Convention in Chicago, where Elkins will play a pivotal role in brokering support for his nomination two weeks later. "...It would be much more natural and satisfactory for you to come through here on your way to Chicago and stop over the day." Elkins would later serve as his Secretary of War from 1891-1893. Addressed "Dear Elkins"; signed "Very sincerely yours Benj Harrison." Approximately 11 x 8 1/2". 

Minor edge wear and toning with vertical and horizontal folds. Very good.
