World War II Aircraft Nose Art Snapshot Archive (Group of 16). Circa 1945.  Group of sixteen original snapshot photographs depicting American military aircraft adorned with nose art. The images appear to be period prints, several from negatives, showing a wide range of named planes and painted imagery including examples such as “Lucky Dog,” “Top O’ the Mark,” “Arabian,” “Double Trouble,” “Dom Pom Express,” “Betty J.,” “Star Dust,” “Glamour Gal,” and others. Subjects include pin-up style female figures, cartoon motifs, and bold lettering characteristic of WWII-era bomber decoration. At least one image shows a crew member posed alongside the aircraft, reinforcing their vernacular, on-base origin. Most measuring approximately 3 x 4 1/2". 

Condition varies, with expected fading, contrast loss, and handling wear; overall a strong, cohesive archive of nose art imagery.
