[x], 192 pp. With first issue pale blue endleaves and with the first issue inverted "S" at the end of the Contents page, and page 30 correctly numbered. Through the Looking-Glass: 8vo (slightly smaller in size than Alice's Adventures, as issued). Illustrated with frontispiece and 50 illustrations after Tenniel. [xii], 224, [2], pp. Both bound in publisher's full red cloth, boards triple-ruled in gilt with gilt central decorative stamped enclosed in circles, spines ruled and lettered in gilt. THE SCARCE FIRST AUTHORIZED, FIRST PUBLISHED ENGLISH EDITION WITH FIRST ISSUE POINTS OF ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND; FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE (the misprint, "Wade" on p. 21) OF THROUGH THE LOOKING-GLASS. First editions of two of the greatest children's books ever published. 

Condition

Both volumes rebacked, preserving most of the original spines, spines and boards worn, soiled, toned, some marginal wear and a few short tears to endleaves, text lightly toned with occasional soiling, both with bookseller's ticket on rps. still, very good. Housed together in later brown cloth clamshell case.
