EINSTEIN, Albert (1879-1955). Large Photograph Inscribed by Einstein. [Universal City, CA, ca. 1920s-1930s]. Black and white photograph of Einstein speaking to John LeRoy Johnston (1897-1946), publicity agent for Universal Pictures. Approximately 14 x 11". With Johnston's label on verso with legend (written in German - translation:) "Please autograph this picture for Mr. John LeRoy Johnston". INSCRIBED AT UPPER RIGHT BY EINSTEIN IN WHITE INK: "Für Herr Johnston Albert Einstein". 

On January 8, 1931, Einstein visited Universal Pictures in Universal City, Ca. During that visit, Einstein met Universal founder Carl Laemnle, Johnston, various celebrities; Einstein and his wife enjoyed a special screening of All Quiet on the Western Front.

Condition

Photograph toned, rubbed, inscription a bit smeared and unevenly faded. Still, fine.
