Group of Vernacular Studio Portrait Photographs with Inscriptions. 1990s. Collection of color studio portrait photographs depicting young couples, friends, and individuals posed against softly airbrushed backdrops typical of late 20th-century mall or neighborhood portrait studios. The images feature coordinated styling, affectionate poses, and decorative backgrounds including hearts, clouds, and starburst effects, characteristic of 1990s portrait aesthetics. Many of the photographs retain handwritten inscriptions on the versos, addressed to a recipient named “Gracie,” with personal notes, dedications, and dates, suggesting the group was assembled as a keepsake or friendship archive. The inscriptions, written in both English and Spanish, add a layer of social context and intimacy, documenting relationships, youth culture, and personal expression of the period. Largest approximately 3 1/2 x 2 1/2".
