The item, presenting the general proclamation from Washington, announces the end of the Revolutionary War: "The Commander in Chief orders cessation of hostilities between the United States of America, and the King of Great-Britain, to be publicly proclaimed to-morrow at 12 o'clock... it puts a period to a long and doubtful contest; stops the effusion of human blood, opens the prospect of a more splendid scene, and like another morning star, promises the approach of a brighter day than hitherto illuminated the western hemisphere; on such a happy day, a day which is the harbinger of peace, a day which compleats the eight year of the war; it would be ingratitude not to rejoice, it would be insensibility not to participate in the general felicity." 

Light spotting and soiling. Holes in gutters from possible disbinding; minor chipping and edge wear. One horizontal and one vertical fold. Very good.
