Pair of Sideshow “Half Man / Half Woman” Banner Display Snapshots, Circus Midway. 1930–40s. Pair of vintage black-and-white vernacular photographs depicting sideshow attractions on a circus or carnival midway. Both images show crowds gathered before painted banners advertising a “half man half woman” performer, a classic gender illusion attraction common to traveling shows of the period.
