ROOSEVELT, Franklin Delano (1882-1945). Typed Letter Signed to His Son, James. The White House / Washington, January 21, 1935.  One 4to page on one folded folio sheet on white White House stationery. Approximately 9 x 7". Addressed to his son: "Dear Jimmy:-". Signed, "Affectionately, F. D. R." IN THIS LETTER TO HIS SON, JAMES, FDR DISCUSSES A COLLECTION OF AUTOGRAPHS BY FOUNDING FATHERS - WITH SEVERAL EMENDATIONS IN HIS HAND. 

"The only records I can find of Nathaniel Green documents are as follows: [in. FDR's hand:] 1931 - A. L. S. 1p. to Rochambeau 1782 - $40 / 1931 L. S. 2p. West Point 1779 - $20 / 1932 L. S. 4p. Headquarters 1782 - 41 [typed:] The Thomas Jefferson should bring about [manuscript:] $20 to $30. [typed:] Notice, however, that all except item No. 75 are L. S. and not A. L. S. I hope all goes well. Much love..." 

FDR was a lifelong Americana collector, and this letter reflects his deep knowledge of this subject. His massive collection eventually went to the FDR Presidential Library and Museum in Hyde Park, New York.

A bit toned, one horizontal crease. Fine.
